Description
Assassins is a simple strategic game that consists of a group of people and contracts. Yes, it's safe - physical harm is not part of the play. Instead, the nature of the game is to:
1. Track down your mark and complete a contract
2. More importantly, stay in the game.
To play, you must have a Ulink account (therefore affiliated with UofL) and must be registered before the game begins. Once you register, you will be given a unique SECRET that will be your gift to the person that successfully eliminates you from the game. The day before ASSASSINS begins, you may pick up your unique Assassin Card, which is a convenient manner to transfer your secret.
As long as you remain alive, you will be awarded CONTRACTs that define your mark and you shall attempt to find your mark. If you complete a CONTRACT, you will often be given your mark's CONTRACT. This pattern will continue until the time limit is reached, or once there is only one person remaining.
Once a CONTRACT is completed (explained in the rules) the mark must reveal their SECRET to their assassin, so that the system can acknowledge that the CONTRACT has been completed. Not revealing or falsifying your SECRET to your assassin is cheating and all violaters will be socially humiliated by their peers.
To see your current CONTRACTs or report a CONTRACT as completed, simply login and click on assassins.

1. The moderator is always right. Even if the moderator says that he/she is wrong, the Moderator is still right.
2. Players must register with their actual name. Nicknames that you regularly go by are allowed (and encouraged in the case that you don't go by your first name), but please don't make something up. Anyone who omits their name or supplies a fake name will be barred from the game.
3. Players must be residing in the Louisville, KY area during the duration of this game. Temporary vacations are fine, but reports of players who are residing out of town will be investigated. Should this be the case, the offending player will be removed from the game. If you're not sure if you live too far away, please contact the moderator and he/she will give you an answer straight away.
4. A contract is completed when the assassin is within arm's length of the mark, unobstructed, and the assassin says "Assassination!" or any declarative variant thereof. If the assassin prefers to use non-harmful, non-water weapons, such as a cheap dart gun, nerf shooter, or rubber bands confiscated from your favorite office, this is permitted; just say "Assassination" when you miss them from 2 feet away.
5. Once a contract is complete, the mark must give up their secret. Not giving up this secret or giving the assassin something else ruins the fun of the game and makes you look stupid. A card will be available with your secret upon it in the SSSC Office one day before assassins begins. Failure to supply your secret within 24 hours of assassination may result in administrative action.
6. The mark of a contract is out of the game at the moment when the contract is completed (see rule 2). Please do not continue playing the game just because the assassin hasn't recorded it on the website. Again, this is the kind of thing that ruins the fun of the game.
7. In the event that the time limit is reached and no contracts have been completed, a winner will not be declared.
8. In the event that the time limit is reached and two or more players have the same number of completed contracts, the number being more than one (see rule 7), a tie will be in effect.
9. The game is won by the last player standing after all others have been assassinated. Should there be more than one person in the game when the time limit is reached, the person with the most kills is declared the winner. If this means that you are beat out by someone who has been assassinated, then your friends get to laugh at you for having been beat by a dead person.
10. The moderator is free to announce their own winner (see Rule 1) should there be a dispute.
11. Certain places and events are declared Safe Zones, in which no assassinations may take place. These zones are to include:
* J.B. Speed 105 (SSSC Office)
* SSSC & Society Functions (Including Meetings!)
* Classes currently in session or official class-related activities (This includes SI or tutoring).
When in doubt, contact a Moderator.
