Event Descriptions:

  • Dizzy Bat Relay-Each member of the team must put their head on the end of a bat and spin around 5 times.  That member then attempts to run to and around a cone.  The member then runs back to the team and tags the next member’s hand.  Repeat until the last member runs across the finish line rather than tagging the next member’s hand.  The bat must stay connected to the ground while the member spins.  Relays may be times rather than ran simultaneously.  Possible Points-15
  • Frozen T-Shirt-Each team receives a frozen t-shirt.  The first team to get someone on their team to put it on wins.  The t-shirt must be worn with arms in the sleeves and head through the neck hole.  The event may be timed or ran simultaneously. Possible Points-10
  • Tug-of-War-This should be fairly simple and self-explanatory.  No cleats allowed. Possible Points-15
  • Orange Chin Pass- Each team stands in a line and passes an orange down the line by holding the orange between their neck and chin.  No hands may be used; only the neck and chin may be used to pass the orange.  First team to get the orange to the end of the line wins.  If the orange is dropped, it must be run back to the front of the line, and the passing starts over. Possible Points-10
  • Frisbee Pass- Each team stands in a long line from one specified spot to another.  A Frisbee is passed to each successive member to the end spot.  If the Frisbee is dropped, it must be ran back to the beginning of the line and then the passing starts over.  The team with the fastest time wins. Possible Points-10
  • Balloon Pop- Each team has 8 balloons.  A member runs with a balloon to a chair, one at a time, sits on it to pop it, and then runs back to the team.  That member tags the next member’s hand, and then the process repeats until all 8 balloons are popped and the last member runs across the finish line. Possible Points-10
  • Float Contest- Each team makes a float.  It will be judged on creativity, speed school spirit, art work, and uniqueness.  Possible points-30
  • Egg-in-the-Spoon Sprint- A member must run with an egg on a spoon that is in his/her mouth to the finish line.  If the egg is dropped, the member must go back to the start.  If the egg breaks, the runner must stop where he/she is.  The runner who gets the fastest time or largest distance wins. Possible Points-4
  • Water Balloon Toss-Two team members toss a water balloon back and forth.  With each pass, the member who tossed the balloon takes a step back.  When the balloon bursts, the distance between the two is measured, and the couple with the largest distance wins. Possible Points-8
  • Wheel-Barrow Race-A two member wheel barrow races to and around a cone and back to the finish line.  Fastest time wins. Possible Points-8
  • Three Legged Race-Two members must tie a pair of legs together.  They will run to and around a cone and back to the finish line.  Fastest time wins. Possible Points-8
  • Shoe Kick-A member must kick his shoe.  Farthest distance wins. Possible Points-4
  • Limbo-One member per team participates in a limbo line.  Possible Points-7
  • ROTC Field Relay-Like the 1600m relay on a track, except around the ROTC field.  A “baton” will be used for the four members. Possible Points-15
  • Hot Dog Eating Contest-A member from each team eats hot dogs.  First person to SWALLOW 4 dogs and 4 buns wins. Possible Points-12
