  • A runner may advance only one base beyond the base the runner is on or running toward when the ball travels into foul territory on an overthrow.

Ultimate Rules to Remember

  • Games will be played with 25 minutes halves and a 7 minute half time.
  • Substitutions may be made only after a score or an injury.  In the event of an injury, the opposing time may substitute up to the same number of players injured.
  • Stall counts are allowed.  The defensive player on the disk (marker) must call “Stalling” and count 1-10 with one second between each successive number.
  • Out-of-bounds will be called by the “man with best perspective.”
  • A person is in-bounds if he/she catches it in-bounds.  If they fall out-of-bounds after the catch, the player will restart play where he/she went out-of-bounds.
  • When time is called in either half, play will continue until the possessing team scores or loses possession.
  • If a tie incurs at the end of the second half, the next point scored wins.
  • Each team has a 60 second time out.
  • If the pull is touched but not caught, it counts as a dropped disk turnover to the pulling team.
  • A pivot foot must be kept by the player with possession of the disk.

Rules and Exceptions to Remember

·         There are only 6 players on the court (sand) at one time.

·         Only the designated captain (who must be on the field) can protest a call by the official.

·         Substitutions may be made at any time that the ball is out of play.

·         Scoring is rally style.

·         Touching the net while playing the ball is a fault.

·         Not serving behind the out-of-bounds back-court line is a fault.

·         A double fault (when both teams commit a fault at the same time) replays the rally.

·         The winning team will be decided by best of three sets to 15 points.  If the team reaches 15 without being at least 2 points ahead, play must continue until a team is 2 points ahead, thus winning the game.

·         There is a five minute interval between sets.

·         Rotation must occur before the serve directly after a possession change.

·         Only one attempt of a serve is allowed.

·         If a ball touches the net on a service and goes over-IT IS A VALID SERVICE.

·         IF decided upon before the game by a 2/3rds majority of the two teams, any part of the body may be used to hit the ball.  However, carries/lifts are not allowed.

·         Remember that each team has three hits to get the ball over the net to their opponents.

Remember:  Good sportsmanship is a must; judge other teams in only as meticulous a manner as you would judge your own team.
