    DOSAC: Ryan Frazier

    • Cheap lunch Sept. 14 from 11:00 to 1:00.
    • Society Picnic Sept. 16th from 12:00 to 2:00

DOSR: Race Nichols (Proxy: David Beraun)

    • A reminder for the societies that didn't attend last night's meeting:
    • SSSC and the societies need to work together. We can help each other out in terms of planning, and man-power/participation in each other's events
    • SSSC can also be a way of attaining money.  Information on this is on the SSSC website.
    • SSSC would like to see more society involvement. When we hold events, it would be good to see more societies present, and the more active a society is, the more supportive SSSC will be.  A prime example would be the upcoming SOCIETY PICNIC on Sept. 16 from 12 to 2.  All societies should be present. Setting up a booth is a great way for you to reach the students of Speed School, and all of the food will be provided.

    Freshman Council: Lauren Speaker

    • Our Rock Band Tournament was very successful! We had around 40 people attend and everyone had a great time. "Pun Intended" (which included many beloved SSSC members) won the tournament. Thanks again to all those who helped out.
    • Freshmen: If you attended, please make comments on the google doc that Jared sent out and continue taking down posters as you see them.

    • Get those applications in for the Alumni Student mentoring program. There has been some interest from second year students. At this point we have decided to extend the program to anyone interested but be aware that your placement it dependant on the number of Alumni that we get. This means that priority will be given to upperclassmen. You can pick up the app/turn it in at the council office.

    DOA: Jared Hatfield

    • Old programs from E-Expo (formerly Engineers' Days) are being posted on http://engineering-expo.com  The library has even older copies of the programs than were uncovered in the council office.  Will be contacting the library to see if there is any way we can get digital copies of the old programs so they can be posted on our website.
    • If you plan on running for a council directors position, you should talk to the person in that position before the end of the semester.  Elections are held in the spring before E-Expo and new directors are sworn in during E-Ball.
    • For the last meeting of the semester SSSC will be holding a holiday potluck.  Everyone who can is encouraged to bring in a dish so we can all enjoy a good pre-finals meal.  If you can bring in food fill out the form so we know what to expect for the meeting: http://spreadsheets.google.com/viewform?formkey=dGlMSDdrSGd3ZTRyR3ZBOGN6Y00xM2c6MA

      • Student of the Month Congratulations to Allie Bube, our DoCAR, for winning this months Student of the Month Award! Also if you are interested in applying, we are down in numbers again so everybody apply! Every month all applications are removed and students must reapply to enter. I’ll be expecting to see everybody’s name next meeting!

      • The construction should be done by the January 1st… but we know how they are with construction dates with McAlister’s so we’ll see...
    • SSSC
      • I will be meeting with Dean Starr soon. I still have to compile a complete list of “demands” and other questions. So if you have any ideas on things we can get then please let me know.
      • As of right now the list stands as:
        • We keep the lock on our door. A previous council president mentioned that it was paid for by the council.
        • Furniture for the new council (Desks, tables, couch?, cabinets)
        • The other large room in the basement be used as a meeting room for all societies.
        • A projector the meeting room
        • A place will be allotted for Council and other societies to have advertisements and other bulletins outside of the basement door, JB Speed Lobby and possibly the study lounge of the Duthie center
        • The move will be completed before 1 month (or something like this) of E-Expo, which will be held on March 6th.
        • Possibly a written agreement
      • The list of questions are:
        • What happens if the power goes out and the pumps fail?
        • The images and designs on the walls are unique and historical, can they be removed and/or preserved in some fashion?

No meeting was held, only paper reports.
