BMES achieves this vision by:

  • Fostering the translation of biomedical engineering and technology into industrial and clinical applications through enhancing interactions with industry and clinical medicine
  • Holding top-quality scientific meetings
  • Publishing the highest-quality journals in the field for the communication and exchange of state-of-the-art knowledge at the frontier of biomedical engineering and bioengineering
  • Promoting the education and diversity of the next generation of biomedical engineers, providing guidance for their career path and leadership in the ABET accreditation process
  • Enhancing the impact of biomedical engineering on society and on human health
  • Maximizing the performance of the discipline through recruitment of members and raising the profile of biomedical engineering in the government, the media, and the public
